Saskarc History

Saskarc was founded in 1991 by Brent Scott, beginning in his backyard shed in Oxbow, Saskatchewan. Within 3 years, the business experienced significant growth, moving into a new facility in 1994 and becoming incorporated in 1997. Saskarc originally fabricated small steel works and provided welding services throughout southern Saskatchewan.

As the company continued to , we became an industry leader in structural steel, completing large-scale projects for industries such as oil & gas, mining and power generation. In 2003, we broadened our services into the USA, becoming an international steel solutions provider. In 2007, Saskarc expanded again into a much larger, modern facility, along with 14 acres of yard laydown storage space, as well as an area for out blast and paint capabilities.

2013 saw the addition of Shop B, an assembly shop, bringing the total square footage at Saskarc to 52,000 with 6 overhead cranes. We opened an office in Edmonton, AB in 2014 to further expand our team. Most recently, in 2023, we expanded our primary fabrication building, adding an additional 14,000 square feet of fabrication space.

During this time, we also added a new painting & coating facility to its every-growing infrastructure, with its 10,000 square feet of indoor space and over 6 acres of laydown space. As we saw a decrease in the industrial market, we strategically shifted our focus to meet the growing demands of the civil/infrastructure market, providing temporary steel for large scale support of excavation and bridge projects.
